Pod Docs

Pod is a companion app for EVE Online that runs on your own computer. You add the characters you fly, and Pod pulls in their data from EVE so you can read it without logging into the game. It is a desktop app for Windows, macOS, and Linux, not a website and not an overlay.

These pages explain what Pod does and how each part of it works. If you have just installed Pod, start with Getting Started to add your first character.

What Pod does

Pod gives you one place to check on your characters between play sessions. Once a character is added, you can see:

• Your roster of characters, grouped into squads or left in a shared pool.
• Skills, including what each character has trained and how the queue is progressing.
• Mail, with the same inbox, folders, and labels you have in the game, plus the ability to read and send messages.
• Wallet activity, including your balance, the transaction journal, market orders, and contracts.
• Assets, so you can find what you own and where it is parked across stations and structures.
• A calendar of in-game events and Pod reminders, such as when a skill finishes or an industry job is ready.
• Industry, covering your jobs, blueprints, and a planner for working out what a build needs.
• A Captain's Log for writing up what each day brought, with room for a note on each of that day's calendar events.

You do not have to use all of it. Turn features on or off from Settings and keep the parts you care about.

Where your data lives

Pod talks to EVE through ESI, the official EVE Swagger Interface. When you add a character, you sign in with your EVE account and grant Pod read access to that character. From then on Pod syncs in the background and keeps a local copy of the data on your machine.

That local copy is the important part. Pod reads from its own database, so the app stays fast and works even when you are offline. EVE does not push changes to you in real time, so what you see reflects the last sync. Pod refreshes on its own schedule, and you can trigger a sync yourself when you want the latest.

Because everything lives on your computer, your character data is not stored on a server you do not control. You decide which characters to add, and you can remove a character to clear its data.

Where to start

Add your first character with Getting Started. After that, the sidebar lists a page for each feature. Read the one that matches what you want to do, or browse them in order to get the full picture.
